HISTORY
Church now sadly desecrated and turned to secular events, the Church of the beaten whites stands on the road leading to the valley floor, in ancient times called "Via Mezzana."
From Baroque lines and harmonics, the structure was built during the fifteenth century in honor of St. Bernardino of Siena, who in these places he made several sermons.
A longitudinal plan with an apse and two side chapels, the church is still currently consists of warehouse, sacristy and choir.
The bell tower, a squared plan, has 2 bells.
Headquarters of the brotherhood of the Beaten whites (religious movement that during the fifteenth century was for countries to sing praises to the Lord.)
At the beginning of the last century ceased to be officiated and was used as a secular events such as a meeting room or theater. Currently home to the alpine group Piozzo using it as a venue for events.
Now requires a careful restoration (see photo) both internally and externally in order to eliminate the damage caused by an incongruous and use by the authorities at the beginning of the last century, little attention to art and historical value.

Piozzo hosts, usually the first week of October, the fair Pumpkin Piozzo, famous throughout Italy for their quality as well as quantity!

Storia:
Chiesa ormai purtroppo sconsacrata e trasformata per eventi laici, la Chiesa dei battuti bianchi si erge sulla via che porta al fondovalle, nell'antichità chiamata "Via Mezzana".
Dalle linee barocche e armoniche, la struttura venne eretta nel corso del XV secolo in onore di San Bernardino da Siena che in questi luoghi compì diverse predicazioni.
A pianta longitudinale con abside e 2 cappelle laterali la chiesa è attualmente ancora composta di magazzino, sacrestia e cantoria.
Il campanile, a pianta quadrata, ospita 2 campane.
Sede della confraternita dei Battuti bianchi (movimento religioso che nel corso del XV secolo andava per i paesi a cantare le lodi al Signore).
Agli inizi del secolo scorso smise di essere officiata e venne adibita a manifestazioni laiche come sala riunioni o teatro. Attualmente ospita il gruppo alpini di Piozzo che lo usa come sede per gli eventi.
Necessita oggi di un accurato restauro (vedi foto) sia interno che esterno volto ad eliminare i danni causati dall'uso incongruo ed un utilizzo da parte delle autorità preposte, all'inizio del secolo scorso, poco attento all'arte e al valore storico.
MANIFESTAZIONI ED EVENTI:
Piozzo ospita, generalmente la prima settimana di ottobre, la fiera della zucca di Piozzo, famosa in tutta Italia per le proprie qualità e anche quantità!
