Verduno celebrates its most important wine in a five-day dedicated to this great product. The event itself is just started already last Thursday with celebrations and events dedicated to local artists. Saturday, August 31, however, has reached its apotheosis with the opening of the winery, even you, basement hall, "House Ciabotto." For the occasion, the organization has created a scenario called Great Variety. A show where different numbers are inserted in a frame narrative also created ad hoc for the evening. Sunday, September 1 instead, a full day of events takes us already from 11.00 in the morning with the authorities toast to the new year "Pelaverga 2012", already available for the occasion. At 12:30, all the rooms offer menus based on wine prices not exactly low, but that clearly deserve them (lunch was around an average of 40 euro and I'm not sure if including wine!). At 17.00 we continued with the day food and wine with the famous "Merenda Sinoira", a famous meal of the Piedmontese farmers that during the day they rested from the work in the fields eating cheese and sausage to recover from the stress. This evening grand finale on the square instead of the lookout with live music and looking at the stars while enjoying Pelaverga.
All in all a good party even though we expected more in terms of the presence of that organization.

Verduno celebra il suo vino più importante in una cinque giorni dedicata a questo ottimo prodotto. La manifestazione vera è proprio è cominciata già giovedì scorso con celebrazioni e iniziative dedicate ad artisti locali. Sabato 31 agosto si è comunque raggiunta l'apoteosi con l'inaugurazione della vineria, anche si, cantina comunale, "Casa Ciabotto". Per l'occasione l'organizzazione ha creato uno scenario chiamato Gran Varietà. Uno spettacolo dove diversi numeri sono inseriti in una cornice anche narrativa creata ad hoc per la serata. Domenica 1 settembre invece, una giornata piena di eventi ci accompagna già dalle 11.00 del mattino con le autorità che brindano alla nuova annata "Pelaverga 2012", già disponibile per l'occasione. Alle 12.30 tutti i locali offrono menù basati sul vino a prezzi non propriamente bassi ma che evidentemente li meritano (un pranzo si aggirava su una media di 40 euro e non sono sicuro se comprensivo di vini!). Alle 17.00 si è poi proseguito con la giornata enogastronomica con la famosa "Merenda Sinoira", celebre pasto dei contadini piemontesi che durante la giornata si riposavano dai lavori nei campi mangiando formaggio e salsiccia per riprendersi dalle fatiche. Questa sera invece gran finale sulla piazza del belvedere con musica dal vivo guardando le stelle e gustando Pelaverga.
Tutto sommato una bella festa anche se ci si aspettava di più sia in termini di presenza che di organizzazione.
